LEADERSHIP

SUKARNO D. TANGGOL, DPA

CHANCELLOR

It has been ten years since I was given the privilege to serve as the Chancellor of MSU-IIT. I am grateful for that opportunity and I am humbled by your continuous support in the pursuit of excellence for the University.

Sustaining gains and expanding competencies has been my motto since my first year as Chancellor. I believe this is very applicable today, especially during this pandemic. Sustaining gains does not mean that we will only maintain what we have; it could also mean that we change obsolete practices or programs to continue working for qualitative change for MSU-IIT in the field of instruction, research, and extension.

The University has been recognized through accreditations conducted by established institutions. It has proven that while no scheme is perfect, the performance of MSU-IIT reflects the mandates it has been given. It is my aspiration that it will continue to gain higher accreditation levels in the future. Of course, this can only be possible because of the efforts of all faculty and staff members.

However, it is important to remember that the significance of our efforts is not only for the purpose of recognition. It is to give quality education to our dear students. By building more opportunities for them to grow, they can expand their possibilities and competencies. Ultimately, the success of our students is a reflection of the environment that we have created as educators.

In my last year as Chancellor, I pray that I have contributed in creating an environment that cultivates both excellence and a sense of service. I hope that it is a legacy that can outlive my term.

FRANCO G. TEVES, phD

VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

If there is one word to attribute the success of MSU-IIT to in the past 53 years, I believe that would be SYNERGY. Our beloved Institute is a relatively young achiever compared to other top HEIs in the country. It is the synergy among its visionary leaders, managers, implementers, supporters and students, that has created a driving force strong enough to secure for the Institute, a place among the country’s finest HEIs. Though we have experienced many difficulties, and are experiencing still, all of these have made us stronger and more resilient. There may be negative forces at play wanting to see us fail. But, as long as our synergy is strong and unshakeable, we shall always emerge victorious with God’s help.

I salute you, MSU-IIT, bastion of knowledge, on your 53rd Charter Anniversary! Mabuhay ka! May you continue to lead in ages to come, nurturing future generations.

It’s been 53 years… we started small, but today we are amongst the top Universities in the Philippines and in Asia. Today, we celebrate MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology’s achievements, successes, and milestones --- a day to remember our hard work and loyalty, and the day to express our gratitude to our dear University.

The theme, “Sustaining Gains and Expanding Competencies in Times of Pandemic,” conveys a very meaningful message, meaningful reflections and interpretations of what we are going through in these times of pandemic --- sustaining, expanding, embracing change and creating new normal as we look forward to more successful years for MSU-IlT.

GAUDENCIO C. PETALCORIN, JR., PHD

VICE CHANCELLOR FOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Despite the pandemic, it is only but fitting to express my felicitations to the deserving individuals for their selfless services and contributions in putting MSU-IIT in the limelight of success.

Amidst all the challenges faced by the University, it is worth celebrating its Charter Day to look back with admiration and recognition to the administration, faculty, staff and partner agencies as well as to the people who bring honor to the Alma Mater.

At present, its 53rd Charter Day Celebration with the theme, “Sustaining Gains and Expanding Competencies in Times of Pandemic” has captured and transpired the vision-mission of the University. Even with the COVID-19 outbreak, the University along with its constituents still manages to deliver its mandate and services to its stakeholders, students and other partner agencies (both public and private). Also vital to its continuous achievements are the collaborative efforts among faculty members with the unwavering support of the administration which are evident through an increasing number of research outputs and innovations, strengthening the flexible teaching-learning online and offline modalities as platforms, hosting of national and international webinars, establishing glocal linkages and partnerships among others. These milestones are the concrete testaments of the aspirations of every individual and of the University as the foundations and prime movers of transformative education in the society.

Let us not forget to forge strong and dynamic ties to continue our great service to the University anchored on the MSU-IIT’s Core Values of Accountability, Transparency and Commitment in attaining Excellence through Participation, Teamwork, and Integrity.

Once again, congratulations to each and everyone. Happy Charter Day Anniversary MSU-IIT!

On its 53rd Charter Anniversary, I would like to acknowledge and give thanks to all MSU-IIT constituents, past and present, who labored hard to achieve what MSU-IIT is today.
